Whether you love to wear hats, or are looking to advance your knowledge and perhaps take up millinery as a hobby or business, I can provide tution to suit. Workshops can be ½ ,1 or 2 day duration with personal one to one tuition. Gift vouchers can also be purchased.
An Introduction to millinery and materials.
A one day workshop running from 10am -4pm. During the day you will learn about sinamay, felt, parasisal straw, petersham etc, their uses and properties. You will get the chance to make your own fascinator, and take it home with you. All materials are included, as is a light lunch. £150
Make a free-form hat from start to finish A one day workshop running from 10am-4pm, learning free-form hat techniques for either a felt or straw hat. All materials are included, as is a light lunch. £180
Making a blocked hat A 2 day workshop, 10am-4pm both days, in which you learn how to block a hat, finish the hat using traditional techniques, including wiring the brim, fitting a head band, and finally, to decorate. All materials are included, as is a light lunch. £240
Feather and flower workshop A ½ day workshop running from 10am -1pm This workshop covers making silk flowers with tradition millinery tools. Take home your own silk rose. Plus using feathers in millinery, topics covered will be dying, burning, shaping, cutting etc. All materials are included. £90
Alternatively, tuition can be booked by the hour at a cost of £20 per hour, materials not included, but these are available to purchase.
All workshops are held in my own home and studio, and as such can be flexible with regard to dates and days. Main workshop days at the moment are Sunday and Monday, but evenings can be accommodated. Please contact me for further details and an application form.
